KAPPA OMEGA ALPHA
 

I founded Kappa Omega Alpha at Indiana University because I saw a need for a professional community that connected students interested in business, law, and public policy. As a student in the Kelley School of Business and the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a passion for leadership, advocacy, and public service, I wanted to create an organization where students could explore the intersection of these fields while building meaningful relationships with peers who shared similar goals.

Indiana University is home to students with diverse interests, ambitious career paths, and a strong commitment to making an impact. Kelley, in particular, fosters a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and leadership. However, I believed there was an opportunity to create a space for students who wanted to think beyond one traditional career path. KOA was founded to serve students who are interested in law, consulting, policy, finance, accounting, government, advocacy, and other fields where business and public decision-making intersect.

Kappa Omega Alpha is more than a professional fraternity. It is a brotherhood built on our values of Knowledge, Opportunity, and Advocacy. From the beginning, my vision was to create a community where members could challenge themselves, find their voice, support one another,  and grow into leaders prepared to make a difference both on campus and beyond.

During our first year, the Epsilon Chapter grew from an idea into a thriving organization. We welcomed a founding class of 30 brothers, hosted professional development events, built connections with faculty and professionals, invited guest speakers from the Maurer School of Law, and created a foundation for future generations of KOA members at Indiana University. Each milestone reminded me why this chapter was needed and how powerful it can be when driven students come together with a shared purpose.

What makes KOA special is the way it brings together students from different backgrounds, majors, and career interests under one mission. Our members are future attorneys, business leaders, policymakers, consultants, advocates, and public servants. They are students who care not only about professional success, but also about using their education and experiences to create meaningful change.

As KOA continues to grow, I am excited to see the Epsilon Chapter build on this foundation through professional development, networking opportunities, service initiatives, and strong brotherhood. My hope is that every member who joins KOA feels empowered to contribute their talents, pursue their goals with confidence, and leave a lasting impact on the chapter, Indiana University, and the communities they serve. I am incredibly proud of the legacy we have begun, and I look forward to seeing how future members continue to lead, innovate, and carry KOA’s mission forward.
